After the long wait for the first mobility within Erasmus+ project „Fostering Social Inclusion Through Artistic Skills” we were able to go to Spain. Four Polish students and two teachers were staying in Girona from the 6th to 12th February. Together with Catalan, German, Turkish, Romanian and Slovak groups they were taking part in project activities filming short movies about social exclusion and ways of counteracting the problem. Our students visited Girona and Barcelona and spent some time on one of the beautiful Costa Brava beaches. What’s more the students were given the chance to be guests in Catalan houses and get to know the local culture.
Mobility in Turkey
Mobility in Turkey was the second one within the project „Fostering Social Inclusion Through Artistic Skills”. Just as their schoolmates in Spain the students met up with the project partners to create some comics about social exclusion. Young people from Spain, Germany, Turkey, Romania, Poland and Slovakia presented the most famous cartoonists from their countries, voted for the best comics and participated in drawing workshops. The host school Haci hatice bayraktar anadolu lisesi organised sightseeing of Istanbul (the Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar, the Palace of Suleiman the Magnificent ) and some other attractive activities. Project activities in Bardejov
The third FOSITAS mobility took place in Bardejov in Slovakia. From 6th to 10th June project participants were working in international teams on the next stage of the project which was taking some photos related to social inclusion. Students from six partner schools took part in workshops with two professional photographers Tony Fric and Patricia Cordell. The students and the teachers could meet three Ukrainian refugees who told about their life in Bardejov. They also had a great opportunity to get with each other during a barbecue party, sports activities, trips to Zborov and Poprad. On the last day all the participants were saying “See you in Biecz! '' as our school is hosting students and teachers from Slovakia, Spain, Germany, Turkey and Romania at the end of September.
Mobility in Poland The fourth mobility was held from 26th to 30th September 2022 in Zespół Szkół Zawodowych in Biecz. Participants’ task was to compose a song referring to the project matters - supporting social inclusion through artistic skills. Students working in international groups wrote the lyrics, composed the music, learnt to sing the song and finally recorded it in the Cultural Centre of Biecz. The project participants took part in the meeting with Mrs Jadwiga Białoń the manager of the local self-help centre in Biecz, who introduced the students and teachers to the institution activity. The students split into four groups, together with the charges from the self-help centre, participated in workshops prepared by the therapists. Music therapy activities included: painting with music, drama with music, choreography - dance and music band classes presentation. After that the students shared their impressions and observations on the therapy workshops. Apart from working sessions some inclusion meetings were held. The students went sightseeing and explored Biecz, they took part in archery workshops and one-day trip to Bochnia and Cracow. First they visited Bochnia Salt Mine. The visitors got to know the history of the mine and could see what daily labour of salt miners looked like. All were very impressed with walking through the underground passages and the underground railway ride. After that all the project participants went to Cracow and did guided sightseeing. Next the students and teachers saw the exhibition “Into the darkness” in WOMAI - the Centre for Science and Senses where they could empathise with blind people, feel and touch their world.
From 11th to 17th December 2022 four Polish students and their teachers took part in an educational trip to our German partner school Ems-Berufskolleg in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. The main topic of mobility in Germany was sports targeted at people with different disabilities. During the whole week the students participated in various sports activities, prepared by their project partners from six countries. They had a great opportunity to identify with the disabled and experience difficulties they encounter. After the school activities young people visited Rheda-Wiedenbrück and Bielefeld and met the mayor of Rheda-Wiedenbrück in the town hall.
Mobility in Romania
On April 23-29, 2023, the youth of our school and their guardians participated in an educational trip to Romania, as part of the Erasmus+ project entitled “Fostering Social Inclusion Through Artistic Skills.” Our delegation met with participants from partner schools from Spain, Turkey, Slovakia, Germany, Romania and took part in educational activities conducted at the Colegiul Național de Informatică Spiru Haret high school in Suceava. The topic of the classes was various types of social exclusion. The students' task was, among others: presented this issue through short theater performances. The participants raised the issue of discrimination based on: origin, skin color, religion, disability, financial status. The visit program was very rich and, in addition to design classes, included visiting the city of Suceava and its beautiful surroundings. Students had the opportunity to learn about Romanian cultural monuments - including: a medieval castle, an ethnographic open-air museum, Orthodox monasteries and museums.
